Default NGD. Pro II telecaster

Thanks to the prompt and excellent set-up and shipping from the good folks at N’Stuff Music near Pittsburgh, it was a NGD day here. Seller told me these Pro2 series (teles and strats) are flying off the shelves as fast as they can get them. I see why.

I think I made the right choice for me, in going with this over the Isbell artist model. This neck and fretwork are absolutely perfect! Their satin-ized neck finish is the nicest playing neck treatment I can recall. Feels like a high quality maple with gun oil finish, but its some proprietary finish they came up with.

Only two very minor gripes: REALLY wish it was nitro rather than poly, and the string ferrules on back are not countersunk to lay flush!? Almost seems like a design oversight. Cant recall protruding ferrules on other teles. (About 2mm)

Oh, and the pups are really nice and quiet, but keep a nice single-coil clarity. It has a serial push-pull tone switch which sounds similar to a “fat” switch on your amp.

Fantastic, Dave! Happy for you that you got it so quickly. Beautiful Tele.

Interesting about the ferrules on the back. Guessing that the Fender Elite and similar series may have it countersunk just to differentiate the series lines?

Thanks!
Yeah, thats a good point about the ferrules. Maybe others are like this too, and I just never noticed. Since the catch on clothing, I really doubt I missed that.

Heres a pic. My string gauge is downstairs, but I think its clear how tall they are

Nice tele. Coming with a four way built in and the top loader bridge are great additions. I have seen other Fender teles with protruding ferules. I am not sure what is standard with Fender on that. I have been tempted by the roasted pine.

Beautiful! I love Teles. Leo got it right early in the game.

Funny you mention that....my wife commented how ugly my teles were, and how they all look the same.

I pointed out to her that sharks today exist as they have for 400 million years, are not aesthetically pleasing, but thrive because they “got it right” early in the game!

Congrats on your new Tele.

I contemplate getting one. Just trying to decide between the Pro 2 or an Original 60s in blue or maybe even a 50s in butterscotch.

I just play at home but I like to have nice guitars.

Congrats...nice Tele!
I own a “limited run” Copperburst Tele. The ferrels are the same.
