As much as the work around building the box is nice to follow, the rosette making, giving an opportunity to « work » with the builder on the visual aspects of the instrument is special fun. This is my third commissioned with Fred, and on each one of the builds, at one point, I pushed him into doing something (on aesthetics) that he was, at best, unsure of. Luckily for me it did turn out great each time, as Fred was there to prevent any dumb move. Thank you Fred.

So here is the rosette for the parlor to be. IMHO Simple yet elegant.

Very beautiful. I’m a lover of maple and look forward to seeing the completed guitar.

Looks like we’re getting close to closing «the box ».

Best wishes for the new year to everyone. This one finishes on a good note as I received these pics from Windsor.

Fred completed the bracing and closed the box. As I understand it, some more fine tuning on the top could occur in the futur.

As for now I’m very happy to have received these pictures of the work progress.

Nice to see the maple figure here

Next step, routing and binding. Fred was kind enough to send these pics of the work progress.

Tim it is called a Magic probe I bought it after seeing a friend who builds Violins unit and decided I had to have one.
There is a magnetic ball that follows the sensor on the inside of the guitar. Very accurate and can actually cross braces if you are moving it carefully. Useful tool though not worth the cost, I like it when thinning the perimeter of the lower bout.

Thanks for the explanation Fred. I thought it was some sort of measuring device but had to ask. Great looking build so far!

Probably some time before I receive some other build pictures for we are at this point in time when Fred is turning into some kind of druid, working with different potions & mixtures involved in the finishing process.

So here it is, waiting for the finishing to begin...

Just as I thought I would have to wait a while to get new pics, Fred proved me wrong. Happy me 😊
