I'm so sorry, Todd. Watching our parents pass away is always so very hard.

You will be in my thoughts...

Todd, my sincere condolences. I know how much you aided and improved your parents lives in their later years. They, and you, are blessed.

I'm sorry for your loss Todd. We don't know each other except through AGF, but I feel I know you well enough to recognize a fine and devoted son. You're a good guy - time for some Todd time. Condolences again.

Thanks so much - yes, it won't be long and I'll start living again. I have to figure out what I'm going to do about my business, getting kicked out of my current space because the bank that owns the building is expanding and not willing to renew my lease (which ended during the flood)

I have no idea when I'm getting the boot, but I'm guessing relatively soon.

If I can get a few more months in, I may just pack it in at 60.

I am so sorry for your loss, Todd. I understand how tough these losses are.

You left it all on the table, my friend. Knowing it was not easy, your commitment and sacrifice…well, no regrets.

May you recover in due time, and know many of us are here to support you on the backside of the journey.

A huge virtual hug headed your way…..

Thanks - I'm actually a lot more at peace than I thought I'd be.

The last 6 months were extremely hard on several levels and literally after the last few weeks there was NOWHERE to go but up, so to say a weight has been lifted is an understatement.

Because we were so close, the hardest part was letting someone else care for her, especially during covid lock down when I couldn't go in an see her. It was tearing me up a lot more than I thought it would. Then when she got sent away it was unbearable.

The old adage "you always have a choice" wasn't really true for me for the last 6 1/2 years - now it is again. There's a lot of beauty in that.

So sorry for your loss Todd. You loved and cared for her well and this was no doubt a key to how well your Mom lived during your care for her. Prayers for rest and peace for you.

Oh, my friend, I'm just seeing this post today.
Moms are the hardest, that I can attest to. My Dad is now slowly withdrawing into his time to leave (Parkinson's).
I do know you have done your best, and have strode the honorable path.
I believe a bit of travel (if I know you) will provide some restorative perspective.
Mom and Dad are smiling.
Breathe deep.

Todd,
My sincere condolences on your loss. I hope that you can take solace in how hard you tried at making her life and remaining last days as pleasant as possible. It's a true sign of your good nature and character. Take good care.

My condolences as well Todd. Now is the time to allow yourself to heal from the pain you've suffered. Be kind to yourself knowing you've done all a son can do.

Thanks guys - the last few days have been a bit of a roller coaster...so many emotions coming up, and making an attempt to tie up loose ends has proven very challenging.

One day at a time, I guess - just like before.

Todd, just another condolences and prayers thought for you.
You've been on my mind today.
I don't have words to make it better, can't say I know what you are feeling about now.

Dad's been gone 11yrs, mom passed 8yrs ago...we cared for them 10+yrs in their home and ours. It was one of the greatest things (and most difficult) that I've done.

When we were kids and throughout their lives, they just wanted to know we were ok. Now on the other end, as parents ourselves, our kids just want to know we are ok.

Not a day goes by that I am not reminded of them.
