Default Looking for a good set-up person in Los Angeles area

Hello folks, I am a new member on the forum and this is my first post. I have been reading and learning and getting great advice from you guys for years. So thanks for that!

I just got a nice used Martin D-15M. I love this guitar. I want to get it set up now. Can anyone recommend a good person to take it to in the Los Angeles area? I figure this is the best place to ask.

Any replies are much appreciated. Thanks!

-Jon

Jon-Many welcomes to AGF. You might check with Ted @ LA Guitar Sales https://www.laguitarsales.com/, a forum sponsor and all-around good guy. I'm sure he could steer you in the right direction....

Welcome aboard. L.A. is a big area. If you’re in or around Santa Monica call Mike at McCabes on Pico.

Hi Jon, welcome to the forum.

Lots of qualified lutiers in the LA area, but I've been using Dave Neely for several decades. Dave is an authorized Martin tech, and an all around good guy. Tell him I sent you and you'll get his normal price.

If you are in the OC, I highly recommend the Guitar Shoppe in Laguna Beach. An added bonus is you can spend hours walking one of the best coastal towns.

As Ted said, David Neely is superb. If you live out toward SFV, Eric's Guitar is also excellent.

Best Of Luck,
Scott Memmer

California vintage guitar and amp in Sherman Oaks has a Martin Authorized luthier. Renson guitar shop in Sherman Oaks Norm's rare guitars in Reseda, all in the San Fernando Valley.

Where are you located?

I'm looking for someone in the Whittier/Downey/Fullerton area.

I'm in Inglewood, right next to the 405, so the west side is ideal...but I'm willing to go further than that, south bay, the valley, whatever...

Thanks for all the recommendations folks! Much appreciated.

Another shout out for David Neeley and McCabes Guitar Shop. Have used them both over the years and been pleased with each.
