Default "Bus Stop" by the Hollies by me...

I've mentioned before that the groups CSNY came from are the groups I teethed on in formative playing years in the '60s; The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield & The Hollies all had so much going on vocally, which is where my roots are.

Here is my rendition of a Hollies song from 1966 - I'm doing all the singing, playing bass, 6 & 12 string guitars... and using a cheesy drum machine.

Bus Stop

Really great Dave! Enjoyed that......is this a recent recording? Or, does your recording and rendition go way back to that time as well.
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Gents!

That recording was made around a decade ago.

I have to say I enjoyed that ... good rendition of a good song.

The Hollies were undoubtedly my favorite British group of the sixties ... two fabulous voices ...Allan Clarke and Graham Nash ... and Tony Hicks was a criminally under-rated guitarist ... he really was very very good.

Amazing thing is that Graham Nash looks just as good now as he did back in '66 ... Dave probably does as well ...

Thanks! Graham probably wins, but...

Dont'cha just hate guys who can still flaunt a full head of hair when they are 66?

Well, you do if your (remaining) hair is like mine ...

Not even much grey yet... no idea why. It's certainly not due to clean living!

Even with the drum machine and your different vocal range, a very faithful rendition of a great early Graham Gouldman song.

Graham Nash's autobiography has a good story about how the Hollies and Gouldman hooked up as I recall.

Besides writing a number of hits with a trademark middle eastern flair around the same time (Yardbirds "For Your Love," "No Milk Today" for Herman's Hermits, and my favorite Hollies single "Look Through Any Window") he was later in 10cc.

Thanks Frank!

While not as smoothly done as Bus Stop, I found an old recording I did of:

Look Through Any Window

This is the kind of stuff my early bands in the '60s teethed on. LOVE it!!

That was great. Hitting those high harmony notes ain't no walk in the park.

Thanks a lot, Gents! I'm glad you enjoyed them. Digging them up brought back some nice memories here, too.
