I agree awesome tune and has a bit of that Lightfoot mariner feel.
The prosody is great . Ah yes crossing the Columbia bar, a wild ride when the swells are running high. Only ever got seasick twice in my life both times crossing that roller coaster "Hooray and up she rises"

Thank you so much for watching and commenting! Have you been over the Columbia River bar??!! The Graveyard of the Pacific! Wow! I never have, though I have gone over the Grays Harbor bar a few times, and that is scary enough! Thank you for watching and for your comments! Quote:

Thank you so much. Regarding the history lesson, for a couple of days when nobody commented on this thread, I thought I had scared everybody away with the history lesson. At the same time, it's an interesting connection of the East Coast to the West Coast during America's infancy. Robert Gray and his crew were the first Americans to circumnavigate the globe and they did it twice over a period of just a little more than 4 years. It's kind of phenomenal, and yet most people have never even heard of Robert Gray. In fact 39 years ago when my family and I moved to Grays Harbor, I thought the place was named after the gray, overcast skies. We are so close to the Pacific Rainforest that we get about 100 inches of rain a year here. Nope... It turns out the place is named after a sea captain that most people have never heard of! - Glenn
