Default NGD! Larrivee OO-40 Legacy Pearl Edition

Temps all looked good. Opened the case and took the guitar's temp. It was within a couple of degrees of ambient room temp so I had to give her the once over and play some. No finish checking. Just smooth as silk, typical Larrivee satin finish.

She's like brand new. Born Apr 16, 2015. I purchased her from a Larrivee Forum member who is the original owner.

No dings, scratches or any other detectable signs of wear. My 2017 LV-10 50th has more fret wear than this guitar. In fact, I see no sign of fret wear at all!

Vert pleased. Sound is rich, deep, balanced, and surprisingly loud for such a small body. Completely different tone pallet vs. the LV-10. I was expecting as much and I am very pleased.

I learned from the owner that the strings are the original factory strings which I believe also means factory setup. It's just about perfect, but could be a just a hair lower for my tastes. New strings and a pro setup will be happening this week.

This is my first 12 fret steel string.

Here are some quick photos I snapped.

Very nice. Even the screenshots seem expensive. I hope it sounds as good as it looks.

Default Headstock

That’s about the prettiest torch headstock I have seen. The variation in the abalone to set off the different parts is exceptional. Enjoy the guitar!

Congrats on an amazing Larrivee guitar! Seriously considered that model before settling on the Dreadnought!

I owned the less ornate model of that for a weekend or so. It wasn't for me, so I sent it back, mainly because of the long scale neck.

I thought that, for me anyway, it was an amazing guitar if I was looking for one to play with a pick. It didn't quite do it for me for fingerpicking (I blame the 25.5" scale for that), and that's only my personal preference. I was totally into the quality of the guitar and thought it was great.

It was loud!

I'd get another Larrivče no problem.

Congratulations!

Very nice Mark, Congrats!

Larrivee does wonders with small bodies. I have a maple parlor I purchased several years ago from a member here and it is a wonderful instrument.

Enjoy!

Thanks everyone. Looking forward to many years with this one. My youngest daughter fell in love with it immediately. She is just starting to learn to play. I bought her a Cordoba Mini nylon string for Christmas and she is already doing very well. She likes the smaller guitars and this one fits her perfectly.

That looks really sweet... congratulations! I love small-bodied guitars. They're so much fun to play. I bet you'll enjoy that one.
