I really like that book. Read it once in high school, again in college and at least one more time in my 30s. Think I'll have to pull it out again.

I read a lot of golf books and one of my favorites is "A Mulligan for Bobby Jobe" by Robert Cullen, coauthor with Bob Rotella of "Golf is Not a Game of Perfect." Jobe is an arrogant pro golfer who is struck blind by a lightning bolt and then battles his way back to competitive play and character redemption with the help of his caddy and a sexy sports psychologist. Improbable as that may sound, it works on a variety of levels.

I've got 2 going at the moment - "In Spite Of Himself", the John Prine biography, and "Astrophysics For People In A Hurry", by Neil DeGrasse Tyson. The Guy Clark biography is next up in the rotation.

I always have an actual book and an audio book on the go at the same time.
Physical book is Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel -- simply superb, historical fiction at its best. Audio book is Catch-22 by Joseph Heller -- I've read it a couple times before and it's one of my favourites; hilarious and poignant at the same time. |

I have been reading "At Dawn We Slept: The Untold Story of Pearl Harbor" by Gordon Prange. It's about 1000 pages long of the smallest type imaginable, but a fascinating book about the attack on Pearl Harbor from all sides. I am nearly finished, so at this point in the book, late 1944, who let Pearl Harbor happen has become a political football.
I also just finished, "My Sister's Grave" by Robert Dugoni, fairly light reading. I've also been reading, "The First Tycoon: The Epic Life of Cornelius Vanderbilt" by T.J. Stiles. Fascinating reading about an earlier time in America and New York City. - Glenn

My summer reading list generally consists of the entire Doc Ford library https://smile.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb...=2MXL2H9WAQ5Q8 by Randy Wayne White. If I'm really focused, I'll get through 2-3.....

A Modest Genius
The story of Darwins life and how his ideas changed everything. Great read. I will probably re-read it. So interesting. Also the Niel Young book: Shakey A hard read for me. It's just plain boring and a lot (to me) of information about things maybe a die hard fan might like. I got it because of a thread like this, but I really don't think it's well written at all. Mark

Funny thing about this particular book is that it was contained in a package bequeathed to me by a man I thought I knew well as a career soldier and a minion of piety. Twain had a wide and surprising audience. |
