Default Offset rock-a-billy archtop "Showdown" complete.

It was a long week to get her ready for the artisan guitar show this weekend but we made it! I went with the poker theme for this rockabilly guitar. I'm no stranger to the felt and I enjoy playing cards as a hobby online and at the casinos. Plus gambling and rockabilly always go together. For those who aren't schooled on the poker lingo, "Showdown" refers to when all the betting in the hand is over and the players reveal their cards. In Texas Hold Em, a type of poker, each player is dealt only two hold cards. Being dealt two Aces gives you, statistically speaking, the best implied odds of any combination of hold cards. When you lose the hand with "pocket" aces, it's referred to as "Cracked Aces". I thought that would be a cool image to engrave on a gretsch style pickguard. It came out great!

The gold knobs haven't arrived but I got a ringer dropping a set off at the show Saturday. If you'll be at the show this weekend come say hi. I'll be displaying this and my flattop and my mentor, Bill Comins' booth.

That guitar is a blast - and I especially appreciate the visual build documentation (or, as we called it before I went to work for a large corporation, the pictures).

that is a the most ridiculously awesome looking guitar I have ever seen. I want it black and with 3 P-90s. And now I'm going to rob a bank.
