Default Ice Storm Coming to Eastern Canada

This weekend. Expected power outages.

What is a list of things to do during a multi day blackout? What suggestions do you have?

I use acoustic guitars with kerosene lamps, then I'm sad when the power comes back on.

Davis, Public Safety Canada publishes an Emergency Preparedness Guide that should provide you with the info you’re looking for.

I guess you are accustomed to things like this in April, Davis. I would not be. I spent the morning working in my yard, then took my Slingshot out for a couple of hours of riding along the nearby lake shore roads. Current temperature is 83 F., bright and sunny with a light breeze. Saw dozens of motorcyclists out, and my first fellow Slingshotter! I am sure you love living where you do, and I'm glad. I love Middle Georgia!

I’m also experiencing the 80s temps in SW Florida since January and I ain’t going back home to Canada until this crazy weather (shouldn’t be this way at this point in April) is gone, gone, gone!

Water, flashlights, matches, candles, and generator come to mind. We've experienced week long power outages. Outages during the winter months are frequent.

Very late spring in the upper U.S. and Canada. Light snow predicted here for Sunday night. Can't wait for it to warm up.

I was kind of wondering how to pass the time with no power.

I have books to read, but I get tired reading by candle light after an hour.

I have guitars, but I get tired of those after an hour.

Its too treacherous to drive, stuck in a dark, cold house with no company.

I think if it gets severe and its just rain, not freezing, I will go to some place that has power, a coffee shop with laptop. A movie....maybe go visit a friend.

Lets hope it does not shut down the whole city. I get incredibly bored in the cold dark.

For the future:

GENERATOR

I am pulling the trigger soon .Then I would have netflix and a space heater.

D.
