Be well, Bruce. I hope the two girls spoil you while you are recovering.

Hey, Bruce,
Glad to hear you've had a chance to catch up on your playing, but I hope you have a quick and painless recovery, and get back to making those amazing instruments you're famous for. Be well, good fortune, all the best!
Steve

Bruce,

Wishing you a speedy recovery. I also want to let you know that I love my Sexauer built Schoenberg 12 fret 000 that I brought home from Healdsburg, my third Sexauer guitar.

Call me if I can help in any way during your recovery .

Rick

Thanks for the good wishes, I do expect to survive . . .

Here is a tune recorded a few minutes ago on the Single 0 featured in this thread, the second that is, that I made for this year's festivals and still own. This is called "The Hut on Staffin Island".

Yes, it will be a laparoscopic procedure, and the are 2 hernias to deal with so that is good as otherwise there would be two procedures a few months apart.

That'll teach you to stop skulking around the countryside trying to roll old blokes in their flash cars... I think they call it karma!!!

Hope the surgery goes well Bruce and that you have a speedy recovery. Thanks for the tunes. I always enjoy hearing you play your guitars.

All the best, berf

Heal up! And you know, I always yank 95 yr olds out of lotuses as well. Anyways, the guitar sounds super cool. I became a fan of yours after listening to possibly every guitar on "dream guitars.com". Your guitar and kim walkers were by far my favorites.

The mid range of that guitar in "staffin island" is super punchy. You also have great rhythm as in I feel the soul. Ok cool. Sam

I hope you feel better! At least the Lotus wasn't on fire. Brit cars have a tendency to spontaneously combust, due to Lucas, the prince of darkness.

Another brit car joke to brighten your post-op recovery: How do you spell Satan in British: L-u-c-a-s.

FYI all Brits on AGF I'm not singling you guys out. I had a 72 LR III for a while, so I feel justified.

Anyhoo, feel better Bruce.

Fortunately, this is not a Lucas Lotus, it has electronic ignition and a modern alternator.

Thank you for your further good wishes. I have a couple of hours of freedom left and I am on the forum? Priorities, priorities!

I love the sound of that MagCat as much as I like the looks - perfect sound for "Americana." (Though the name "Reel of Sceachog" doesn't sound particularly American, the tune does.)

Get well soon, but take it easy as you recuperate from the hernia surgery. You don't want to have to repeat the experience!

Melting pot that we are, the American Book is made up of the books of a number of others. I have no idea what Sceachog refers to but I think ill google it in a moment.

Here is what Google turned up:

The actual composer and title come from Irish musician John Brady*. He was born in 1934 on the family farm near Tullamore. The tune was named to memorialize a battle fought in his local area. "The word 'scheachog' (pronounced shca-hogue) is an Irish word that means bush. In olden times whenever there was a battle fought, the dead were buried on or very near the site of the battle. Bushes were then sown over this'graveyard' to protect/guard the dead".
