Default Strings for electric lap steel in dobro tuning?

Does anyone make a set specifically for tuning an electric lap steel like mine below in dobro tuning (GBDGBD)? I tried some internet searches but nothing specific came up for me. Thanks!

I have nickel plated electric mediums on my Supro. They work fine.

Yikes, you're on this forum, too?! Great to hear from you again.

You're saying you tune your low E up three frets to G with electric mediums and don't break the string or stress your lap steel? Keep in mind that mine is a c. '57 Valco built, Bakelite body instrument.

The Steel Guitar Forum used to sell sets by scale length and tuning - not sure if that's still true.

Edit: They still sell strings, though not organized the way I remember (though maybe I asked for a recommendation - been a long time since I got them): https://www.steelguitarshopper.com/c...trings/?mode=1

JP Strings (jpstrings.com) will mix and match any strings you desire to make up a set. Give them a call.

Any set of nickel dobro gauged strings will work great for you (I am partial to GHS): 16-56

I use D'Addario Chromes flat wound mediums on my lap steel, I think they are .013 - .056. With lap steel and string gauges it's important to note scale length - lap steels come from 21" to 27", and most are 22.5 - 25". Mine is 23", it's a National Dynamic. Because the first string is tuned down from E to D, many people use a .016" or .017" to gain feel and balance, but I don't bother. These gauges are good for any square neck instrument, 25" scale Dobro's included. Twist 'em tight!

Jon, mine is '42-'43 Supro Irene..

Does not appear to be a great deal different from yours other than the shape.
