As far as tone, dynamics, harmonics, and playability go, this video makes me want to get one ASAP (and yes, the dude is incredible, but clearly the guitar sounds amazing).

Thanks. This was my suspicion. Not my kind of guitar, but if I were thinking of buying one it would only be for electronic playing, not acoustic.

Lots of talk about how they sound, but how do they feel?
What and how I play my various guitars is very influenced by how they feel in my hands. For example, I love to finger pick but don't really do it on my electric, it's too cramped. Conversely, solos on my acoustic are very different to those on my acoustic, mainly (i think) because it feels so different under my fingers.

Glad to see Fender is staying in the game. Even U.S. made. Love it!

Well, I think that the Nathaniel Murphy video posted above SHOULD sell some guitars. It sounded pretty good in all the styles he played.

After watching the video and hearing this guy play I feel like there's not much hope for me. I might as well just give up playing the guitar.

I keep getting Fender emails about these and I'm out at $1999.

So what's the verdict on these guitars....

Would be cool to try one.

Yeah I screwed that up, posted on a whim after reading the email.

Thanks for keeping me in check.

Default NGD Fender American Acoustisonic

From acoustic to jazz guitar to “Les Paul” sound I’ve never been disappointed.

As a T5z owner I totally agree. There is a learning curve to optimize the tonality but it is well worth it. You can easily switch from Rock to Jazz to Acoustic and get great tonality for each of these genre’s.

At an acoustic jam on the 4th, I played with a guy who had one. He played it through a Fishman Loudbox Mini and I've got to tell you that the acoustic tone was incredible. He was the only one besides the bass player who was plugged in but his guitar blended right in with all the acoustics.

I was completely and totally impressed by it. It helped a lot that he is a great player but, man, that guitar sounded great!

Default Acoustasonic v Crowdster impression

I've played with the Crowdster for years and finally got to play an Acoustasonic Telecaster for a few minutes at a GC. Before anyone else complains that neither guitar sounds as good as a real acoustic guitar, of course they don't. They're designed to be stage guitars, not studio guitars. That said, I find the *plugged in* acoustic sound of the Acoustasonic to sound really good, as good as the piezo pickups on many "real" acoustic guitars I've played through the years. I can say the same about the Crowdster, but I'd have to do a full gig with an Acoustasonic before comparing it to the Crowdster. I'd love to hear anyone else's impressions who have gigged with both.
