Default 1997 Guild DCE1 Acoustic Electric Guitar - SOLD

Up for sale is a 1997 Guild DCE1 that would be a great gigging instrument for a musician on a budget. It's one of the much less common gloss finish examples, and the first one of this kind that I've seen. All the others have been satin finish, and with the gloss finish, this one is like a D25 with a cutaway, and Fishman Pro electronics. Nut width is 1 11/16", string spacing at bridge is 2 3/16", scale is 25.5". This one has seen some use, and has some wear, a little finish checking, and a couple of dings and scrapes. My luthier has examined it thoroughly, and has pronounced it structurally sound with a good neck angle. It shows very well from ten feet away.

When you look a little closer, you can see the worst imperfection, a short scrape in the spruce on the bass side of the lower bout.

There are a few small marks on the arched back, but nothing too serious. Some interesting grain in the laminate, too.

There is some fish checking in the top, mostly on the treble side of the upper bout near the pickguard that I couldn't get to come out in the pictures. There's also what I thought might be a center seam separation from the sound hole to the top of the bridge, but after looking at it my luthier told me it was just a crack in the finish. As you can see there is still a lot of saddle showing with the action set to 3/32" on the bass side, and 5/64" on the table side. There is a some fret wear in the cowboy chord positions, but nothing serious, and no buzzing.

For an entry level model, it's interesting that there is gold hardware, Guild branded Grovers in this case. You can see a little damage on the upper left of the back of the headstock in the second photo.

Included is a lower end TKL hard case that is a little beat up, but fits the guitar well, has no strange smells. All three latches work well.

All things considered, it's a great guitar for the price of an import. Price is $SOLD, plus actual insured shipping charges. As this represents pretty much what I have into it, price is pretty firm. And where are you going to find a Westerly made Guild for this kind of money? Postal Money Orders preferred, checks OK too as long as you wait for them to clear before shipping (usually overnight these days). We can discuss PayPal if you must.
