Default McAlister C

Roy McAlister is a top tier builder. I love his guitars. I have an amazing 000-28c in BRW.

You would help prospective buyers if you would list the specs for the guitar. Roy doesn't make a model C any longer so the specs can't be found on the McAlister website.

It would be helpful to list:
Back and sides: Brazilian Rosewood
Top: Adirondack Spruce
Bindings: Brazilian Rosewood
Purflings: Violin/Cello
Rosette: Abalone
Headstock overlay: Brazilian Rosewood
Tuners: Gold Schaller with Ebony Buttons
Case: White Calton
Total Length:
Body Length:
Upper Bout:
Waist:
Lower Bout:
Body Depth:
Nut Width:
String Spacing @ Saddle:
Fingerboard Radius: (Probably 16")
Scale:
Electronics:
Fingerboard:
Finish: (probably Nitro)
Neck Truss Rod:

Roy McAlister's base price is now 9K, making this a ridiculously smokin' deal. The C measures 15 1/2 lower, 1 3/4 nut, 2 1/4 spacing, 4 1/2 depth at tail. Neck is a shallow C with girth at shoulders that makes it feel wider. Best with the sale....Robert

I owned a McAlsiter "Vintage Series" OM and it was one of the best guitars I ever played and one of my two favorite I have ever owned ..... a real ringer for a vintage Martin.

I always wondered what his "Other" models sound like, never having heard one. I presume they are voiced to be a bit more modern with heavier, more rounded trebles and no "Martin scoop".... but I guess I wonder how much more lush they are than the vintage voicing.

I am a dyed in the wood "vintage voicing" guy - probably because the music I listen to was all made on Martins and Gibsons (at least when it was acoustic); and because it all has vocal accompaniment which works better with the more fundamental "vintage" voice than with the more lush and powerful modern guitars that dominate instrumental play....

Anyway ..... my experience with my McAlister was that it was profoundly satisfying to play every time I picked it up. If this one is anything like mine it is a GREAT guitar and it looks to be at a remarkably price as well given the recent spate of $9K and up Brazillians listed on the forum.

Default Clips

I don't have any clips currently. I may try to put some together but if it's at all possible to describe the tone, I try to give it a go.
I'd say it is clear and balanced with sweet sounding trebles and big round low end.
To my ears it sounds similar to a Claxton OM but with that distinctive McAlister sound.
Hope that helps.

Better grab it while you can then! ;-) I'm getting a few messages. A lot of tire kicking but no trigger pulling yet.

I have a Sitka/Brazilian C-12 from Roy. My C-12 has bit different spacing is 1 13/16” x 2 5/16” and a Sunburst, but I have mine insured for way more than you are selling and mine’s in a TKL simple case. I’m not sure why this is still here. It’s a steal! GLWS.
