I can almost ga-ron-teee that we are not related! Maybe in generic guitar electronic terms, but not by association. And here I was thinking how clever I was to come up with this nick lol. Please, I ask that you not categorize me with other misbehaving guitar parts. Thanks!

Humbucker, welcome. Lot's of really knowledgable folks around here. I think you'll enjoy it. Just, whatever you do, don't bring up bridge pins.

Silly, I'd imagine you could do a hell of a good Willy Nelson. Sounding good my brother!

I get the feeling that's an inside joke here? lol

I won't bring them up, but only because I think I have a set of really good ones from John Pearse. Brass with abalone dot inlay and they are gorgeous. I plan to buy an identical set for a new guitar coming soon.

Ok, let's change the subject real quick here haha....

Where else on the internet could I find Guy Clark fans? Man I love this place already!

Yup. There is the never ending debate on here about bridge pins and their effect on tone. So I suppose you could say it is a bit of an inside joke.

I just knew there was an internet forum for acoustic guitar fans that was not brand specific!

Peace!

Thanks, guys. It is an unexpected and nice surprise to be in the company of like-minded musicians. Yeah I am in a music-deprived area here and the open mic nights at the local coffeehouses are somewhat of a stagnant atmosphere where on any given night you can hear 5 different versions of Knockin On Heaven's Door so when I get up there and do them some Chris Knight or Reckless Kelly or Steve Earle, or Ray Wylie Hubbard, etc etc they look at me like I have 3 heads and just arrived from Jupiter. They love it and I have become kinda sorta the alt-country ambassador here amongst the millennials and they have nicknamed me Papa John lol. Kids. Whaddya gonna do?

You know about Verlon Thompson and Guy's under-the-bed Bourgeois, right?

Ah, I know who Verlon is and his relationship with Guy, and I seem to remember a story about a guitar under the bed but I can't recall specifics. Do tell!

If you're a Guyote and you're on Facebook you should check out a FB group hosted by Tamara Saviano called "Without Getting Killed or Caught". She is the author of Guy's biography and someday to be released documentary of the same name.

Other relatively unknown songwriters similar to Guy Clark are Joe Pug, Jeffrey Martin, Wayne Hancock and of course Slaid Cleaves.

Well, I won't tell but Verlon will. If you ever get a chance to go to one of Verlon's shows just ask him (he's very approachable). If you catch Verlon and Shawn Camp's "Tribute to Guy Clark" show (IMO, a must for any Guy Clark fan) you'll hear the story.
