Arrow Reduced - Cordoba C9SP Classical - $700

A handbuilt classical guitar with a sweet & lively sound. All solid-wood: European Spruce top/African Mahogany B&S/(unspecified but nice) Rosewood fingerboard & bridge. Very Good condition. It's a wonderful, well-made instrument, but it gets played infrequently & I've come to prefer a narrower neck.

2" nut width, 25.5" scale, natural gloss finish. Comes with the original polyfoam case and a few string sets (LaBella, GHS, Savarez). Can include the sound hole humidifier if you need one.

Selling for $750 due to cosmetic damage listed below. I'll cover shipping to the lower 48 for AGF members, but I'm trying to finance another purchase, so I can't really afford to haggle on price. I'd consider an uneven trade for a Larrivee parlor, but I do have my eyes on a particular instrument, so no promises.

Has a few dings/indentations on the sides, some light scuffing to the heel cap, and a cosmetic but notable scratch below the bridge from some careless restringing. Most/all but that last one could be addressed with some finish work that I'm not going to do myself. I tried to get clear photos, but the glossy finish seems to diminish minor blems - I'm happy to try and point them out for you if you want, just send me a PM. Guitar has been consistently humidified, is well set-up, and ready to play.

Thanks! Yeah, even new this is probably the best sounding & best made classical you can get for under 1k. Makes me a little uneasy to sell, but I know it's just not going to get played enough here.

I have one with a cedar top and can confirm these are well built and sound terrific. Much much better than comparably priced classical (I tried a bunch when I was in the market).

Good luck.

Just a mid-month bump.

FYI, since ConUS shipping is covered for AGF members, I can reduce to $715 for local (NYC/Woodstock) buyers.

You call that "damage"? I call it an afternoon's playing. :-)

Nice guitar, and I applaud your your efforts to disclose all.

Spent some time playing this yesterday for the first time in months, and what a sound! It's a good thing my hand ached after a half hour on the 2" fretboard or I'd be tempted to keep it...

One observation on the sound: the notes decay quickly, as expected for nylon strings, but once the fundamental disappears, the overtones continue to ring in the soundbox for in some cases as much as 5 seconds. This may be why the instrument seems to sound so lush, despite the expected nylon-mahogany tone.

I'll see if I can grab a recording on my cell phone some time this week.
