What strings and pick do you like on your Rainsong?
Before I get into the actual topic of the thread....I have to say, this Rainsong is the most fun guitar I own to play. I take it everywhere, play it every day and just overall, can’t get enough of it. Sadly I have not touched any of my other guitars since getting this one.
Currently running elixir’s and a V-pick 1980. I absolutely hate this pick on every other guitar I own but for some strange reason, it’s just a match made in heaven. I only have one of these picks so I gotta make sure I keep up with it. They ain’t exactly cheap. So what are you guys running?

I don't use a flat pick but as for strings I've found that Martin Retros or D'addario XT phosphor bronze are great. These string choices are based on my bias for mellow tone. If you want brighter there are lots of options for that too, but CF guitars start off pretty bright to my ears in the first place.

I have switched from RainSong to Emeralds, but still use the same strings: Elixir Phosphor Bronze with the Nanoweb coating. They last a long time and I like the crisp yet warm tone.
Picks make a real difference to me. About the time I got into carbon fiber guitars, I started trying nicer picks. I moved from V-Picks to Gravity Picks, preferring the Gravity Picks Gold Series over the acrylic picks. And then, Charmed Life NF1.15 casein picks (darn close to tortoise shell). If you think the V-Picks are pricey, you may have to swallow hard at the price of the Gold Series and the Charmed Life casein picks. And so worth it. For decades, I used Fender mediums and Wabash blue picks; went through several a night, either breaking or losing them. When I pay $20 - $40 for a pick, I don't lose 'em. It has been an interesting pick journey.

I have recently switched to Martin Silk and Phosphor strings. I play mostly fingerstyle and they have a very balanced warmth. They are also reasonably priced

I've tried a bunch of different strings on my Shorty SG - NBs, PBs, 80/20s, etc. Current set of strings (changed last week) is a set of Martin Retro Monel .11s, and so far, I am really liking it a lot - come back in a month or two, and we'll see how I feel then!
I normally do not use a pick, but have been using a Pearse fast turtle 2.5 - sounds similar to nails to my ears. |

After experimenting for a while, here's what I use on my CH-OM. Martin Retro (monel) LJ's Choice (hybrid light/medium strings) and Dunlop Flow picks.
