So we took another pic, showing another bridge made of the mystery species for comparison:

Even though it has been correctly named, I submit the photo anyway to show some of the remarkable variety within this species.
Perhaps what has been throwing the eye is the coat of wax atop all these bridges? Thanks for playing along,
