Default Carbon Fiber vs. Beer

Since I've read many a tale on here about a guitar being ruined from having beer or puke spilled all over the top and the wood soaking up the stench, I was wondering (with the weird sort of curiosity I have) if the same would happen to a Carbon fiber guitar, or is carbon fiber immune to even the vile smell that was lunch?

We might want congress to fund a study on this matter -i feel its very important matter than needs urgent attention- maybe a starting fund of say 5 million or so - well form a committee and start the research immediately !

I have played both Rainsong and CA guitars and I spent 15 years photographing Indy Cars which are mostly carbon fiber tubs, wings etc.

Carbon Fiber is (in it's original state) a woven cloth. When formed into a mold and with heat added it becomes very stiff and retains the shape from the mold.

The guitars that I have played have a high gloss finish applied to them and that seals the carbon fiber on the outside of the guitar. I don't know if the insides are sprayed or not.

A new Indy Car when assembled and unpainted looks like a stealth race car. The molds that are used for manufacturing the parts are very smooth and consequentially the surfaces are smooth to the touch even though the grain of the fabric is showing.

My experience aroung the cars and parts are that carbon fiber is impervious to most liquids including solvents and cleaning products. There are probably some acids that would attack carbon fiber and do damage but, water; beer or vomit would not be a problem.

Likewise a guitar made of carbon fiber would be inpervious to the items you mentioned.

Oh yes, I'm sure, I don't even like Jackass, why is this so hard to understand? I was just asking a question because I was curious

My playing has never been bad enough to make anyone throw up on my guitar...
