I have a modest collection, all of which get worn in a loose rotation. Some mechanical, some quartz - I’m agnostic in that regard.

Here’s a representative few - from left to right, Seiko 5 (I have a few of these), Omega Chronostop (my 18th birthday present from my parents, nearly 50 years ago), Orient Mako, Linjer GMT, and a Dan Henry 1964.

And what I’m wearing today - Casio World Time, just purchased for a princely $16.50, brand new.

I’m a watch geek as well, but my budget keeps me in the Citizen and below range, not in the Breitling range where I want to play!!

Count me in.

Here's my stash. (l to r): 2019 Omega Seamaster, 1969 Omega Speedmaster (my fav), 1985 Rolex Datejust, and 1985 Rolex "Pepsi" GMT Master.

I bought my Speedy when I was in USAF Pilot Training back in 1969. We all knew it was the watch the Astronauts were wearing and we all wanted one. It was a LOT of money to me back then with college loans, etc., to pay off, but what a sensational watch it has been! For those unaware, the Speedmaster is a manual wind watch that will run for 3+ days on one wind. NASA wanted the Astronauts to have one manual timepiece for their trips into space that was totally reliable in the event of electrical failure in the spacecraft. My speedy was worn daily and never had a single servicing for the first 46 years of it's life! It was on my wrist as I flew all over the world and only after 46 years did I have to replace the mainspring. BULLETPROOF!!!

My watch thing is pocket watches and specifically ones that would have been used on the Canadian RRs. Got a few from around 1900 that run great.

Love the Speedmaster - probably my favourite Omega (besides my own Chronostop, of course )

What are they? I can’t tell from the photo, and I’m not watch-savvy enough to recognize them from the broad features...

I can't afford the really high-end stuff, so all I have are some old Seikos, a Nivada that was my father's, and a couple of ORIS watches.

ALS is not an independent brand. They are owned by the luxury conglomerate Richemont.

Yes, no and maybe yes.

I always loved watches. In 1975 I shocked my parents taking my teen job savings on a trip and buying a Tudor in Switzerland. I wanted a "moon watch" or Rolex dive watch. The jeweler explained what a Tudor is and I still have that watch.

Now I'm too far into the utility of Apple Watch and wear it most of the time. I love the mechanical designs and metal working of many old school watches but now it's function over form. My watch has become my telephone, my work walkie talkie, my calendar, my shopping list and more.
