If you get the gig, try to impress upon them that the keys need to be comfortable, regardless of the original record.
And if they're treating the band as a business, they're probably looking at several people. It's a feather in your cap to be included -- congrats! |

Wow, what a day!
I was very nervous before we got started, but instead of working our way into things by playing the female led songs, we just jumped straight into mine! These guys are playing on a whole new level for me. The guitar licks, bass lines and drum beats are as though they've been taken straight off the CD's, not to mention the great work from the violinist!!! As mentioned, some of the songs were pushing my vocal range, but the excitement of the challenge seemed to help me get through the worst of it. They were very impressed with what I brought to the table, and they offered me the position by the end of the session!! Sounds like some of the others they auditioned(including one yesterday) didn't put much work into it, nor were they displaying the right musicality and phrasing they required. One guy was supposedly listening to the song on his phone before starting to sing!! Thankyou for all of the suggestions, it was most appreciated!!

Not surprised at all, it was clear to me that you were taking this audition seriously and would be well prepared. My guess is the band were making similar "new level talent" comments about you afterwards. Congratulations and have fun!

That’s awesome. I’d love to be able to do that one day.
