Yep. Less so now than when I was younger but I was harder on myself back then.

Oh yeah!

Some days ya just think- “Why do I even bother?”

It’s frequently been a student who has put me back on track.
They look so adoringly at what I can do, and I remember where I’ve come from, and it all looks better.

But still, there are days when it just doesn’t come together,
and my wanna is waning.
So, I leave it be somedays, and other days make myself play anyway.

Sometimes it’s simply the feel of the vibrations against me that reminds me why I started in the first place.
And the little smile returns.

Pretty even-keeled. I get back what I put into it.

Yeah for sure but I try not to get hung up on it. Many people have said nice things to me about my playing over the years so I choose to focus on that.

Yeah. Every once in a while I really get country blues. Can just run from song to song, making a seamless medley. Extending songs, substituting chords... I see things coming around the corner.

And then there's the rest of the time.

I guess it´s not about your playing, but 9/10 about how you feel. Forgive your self, leave the guitar on the stand for a couple of hours and then get back to it, cause these moods can be very inspiring and can sometimes lead to a good song :-)

Off days happen sometimes, so I just put the guitar away and do something else. Overall I do feel pretty good about my playing - otherwise I wouldn’t carry on. It’s a hobby!

I have my ups and downs. But I know that is how life is and have learned to accept it. I try to gauge my progress over a period longer than a day.

Ages ago as a youngster on violin this would happen occasionally.

Never on guitar. Not on any instruments for about 20 years. I could only guess why these bad days happen to some (or why the good days do either).

Well not so much struggling, and not as often now days, but occasionally I seem to have off days ( or maybe I'm just not as enthusiastic about playing some days )

All the time. I'll play some really simple stuff or just noodle around on my bad days.
