Yes! It's seeing history come to life. Thanks so much for sharing the build process with us.

The SJ design isn't my preference, but I think it is great that Dale and, perhaps Kevin Kopp, and Alistair Atkin (in the UK) and Arrenbie Guitars in Belgium and Slaman in the Netherlands focus on making guitars in the Gibson vein.

Of course Collings and Bourgeois make great Jumbo style guitars too.

I'd simply love to get my hands on one of Dale's Roy Smecks - but they are above my pay grade now.

Coming together nicely, thanks for the updates. Having two of the same builds on the forum is getting confusing. Double the excitement and GAS though.

Looks like the woodwork is done, but for the bridge.

Has anyone seen the bridge? Where's that confounded bridge?

Sorry to jump in on the question to JT...
My '44 J45 has a painted headstock.. no overlay like on this guitar. Did the SJ in '43-'45 have an overlay, or just painted?

Yeah, painted.

And, to add a little more specificity, Gibson's build quality has never approached what Dale does.

But, the vibe? Yeah, Dale's definitely nailed the Banner-era vibe.

Beautiful burst, I love that the grain is visible through the darker shade. I t looks vintage already. Well done Dale.
