I promise already mentioned this one, but it's one of my faves:

"Oh no, my wife just discovered you can change strings on a guitar!"

Thinking about the comment about "you must have a good guitar/came4ra/ whatever, which kinda indicates an assumption that the guitar kinda plays itself, there is a comment that I've heard one too many times this year (and as you can see my mediocre playing abilities in my Y/T videos)

This is the comment : "I wish I could play guitar like you!" ... it's not because I'm great, (I know my limitations) although I can sell a song, but its the implication that one is just "lucky" to do what you do, without considering that it has taken many hours of effort, determination, and dedication.

So true. The listener almost never appreciates the thousands of hours one put into practicing.

I made much of my living as a writer for many years. Another writer said, many years ago in his magazine column: "Someone said to me recently, 'Id' like to write a book.' Actually, he meant "I'd like to have written a book!'"

Having written a number of books, I know he spoke truth!

It's taken me thousands of hours to become the mediocre guitar player I am today!

Default Two Great Quotes (about guitars of course!) Add on Yours!

not quite a worthy quote, but this gave me a chuckle ...

A woman is on trial for assaulting her husband by beating him with his guitars ... the Judge asks “First offender?” ... she replies, “No your Honor, first a Gibson, then a Fender ...”

My first guitar tutor had the words " I suffered for my music, now it's your turn..." sign written in small letters around the edge of her guitar.....

On JB's Solo Acoustic CD he tells an anecdote that Stephen Stills was the first person he knew that had so many guitars that he needed a truck to transport them between shows. JB thought that was so decadent, but admitted that he just didn't understand [the need to have so many guitars]...

I grew up listening to my brother play classical guitar and I remember him saying that his instructor told him at his first lesson. "The guitar is the easiest instrument to play but the hardest to play well".

A quote from “Outside The Gates Of Eden” by Lewis Shiner:

Cole (to his guitar) - “I did all this for YOU!”

Yep. I always tell students:

Your left hand is what you know; your right hand is who you are.
