I believe that is Gibson’s J-45 Sustainable model.

Is it just me or does that truss rod cover look off center?

It does, but I think it's an optical illusion caused by a combination of the thicker strings on the bass side and the corner skewing of a very wide-angle lens.
Or Gibson's famous attention to detail and QC on display

It may be that the only thing that is sustainable with Gibson is 'Good Enough', but that's just a hunch. HE

Has anyone else noticed it’s almost always a D chord when someone is photographed with a guitar?

It definitely is an optical illusion. Blow the picture up and the truss rod cover is centered.

Well, I don't know. My only Gibson was built in 1934. I've tried to buy Gibson flat tops a number of times during the "Henry" era and been consistently disappointed.
The guitar in the picture is a standard Gibson jumbo shape - s'all I know. I've been known to say that if you want to buy a good Gibson Jumbo, buy a Blueridge or an Eastman! I wish Gibson every future success and I really like the sound of more positive communication with other brands and makers. Mr JC looks somewhat "cooler" than Henry!
