Default Interesting move from Fishman

It seems that a Fishman is now selling the ‘Matrix VT Enhance’ for all of us, Larry Fishman has offered to talk me through them personally while I am at NAMM and I hope to get some video and have a chat with him as well!

Ah man, that’s really cool. I Just dropped using my Rate Earth Blend bc the mic wasn’t providing much value and switched my main guitar to the Black Angel Piezo & Mag, which are great. However, this probably solves my complaint about the Re Blend, which was that the mic didn’t provide as much value as a good SBT. I was considering adding a SBT but now they went and made this...

The Matrix VT Enhance sounds exciting.
I have the original Matrix infinity installed in my Martin DX1 RAE. I love it.

I know people liked this system but I don't remember it getting a tone of praise. Still, the set up looks really good. I have often wanted a UST/SBT system, especially if I can incorporate a system like the Tonedexter. The one downside is the amount of stuff in the guitar.

Thats an elaborate installation.
I like that the battery bag is mounted
to the neck block. helps keep the balance
of the guitar that way.
I wonder how long a battery lasts
before you have to remove the strings
to change it..
Is that tap block a piezo or a mic to pick up
percussive.?
Looks like a great system. Hope they
send you one to review.

I'm a little confused by this post because your link goes to an item about Power Tap. Are you saying the Matrix VT Enhance will now be sold as an aftermarket item rather than only out the door in equipped guitars?

The battery bag position is one you can do with an install really. It is a good spot for it. I can't for sure say the battery length but if I play twenty shows a year with my Fishman Matrix (guitar plugged in 6 hours, including breaks per show), I could easily keep going. I just change the battery once a year to be safe.

Same set up for the Matrix Infinity Mic Blend, although there is the additional of the mic.
The battery can vary depending on the style of battery. I have an Energiser ultimate lithium battery installed, and it supposedly has a 10yr shelf life. I've been gigging my guitar for the last 17mth with no issues, some gigs are only 20-30min slots, while others are 2-3hrs long.

I’m really interested in the rare earth version. I really like the rare earth pickups and this could potentially solve the issue of trying to blend a SBT and Mag.

I’m also assuming the rare earth will be powered as it’s always been from the Batteries under the pickup rather than a battery bag? Also assuming it will be similar cost to the Rare Earth Blend?

Looking forward to some demo videos appearing!
