I did it!! X10 coming my way!
So after deliberating and driving myself a little nuts, trying out X7's old and new, playing an X20 and asking scores of questions on this forum and to Chloe and Kevin, I ordered an Emerald X10!
I was chatting a few days ago with Kevin, asking him when an amber X10 might appear on their "in stock" page. He told me they had a blemished Amber X10 with amber crystal ice back and sides. They offered me a 15% discount. I took it as "a sign." I got photos, and ordered it today. I got it with the hardshell case and the gig bag, with the same saddle that's on an X7, and with an element pickup. I figure after awhile if I don't like the pickup, I can always change it. The guitar is returnable which I needed to feel comfortable (or at least as comfortable) as I can buying a guitar I've never played, never even held to see what it feels like. Before buying a guitar I usually spend hours and hours playing it in a store. Huge thanks to Rahn Lawton, Barb Stambler and Ray Sachs for opening their homes to me so I could play their wonderful guitars. Thanks to all here on this forum for answering my endless questions. I’ve really been enjoying this sub-forum. There’s knowledge and humor. It’s a warm and friendly place in cyber space. All of you spurred on my interest in carbon fiber guitars. So we’ll see where this goes. Either I’ll keep it or I won’t. If I don’t keep it, at least I won’t have to wonder about it anymore. I will now be one of those people who checks the tracking information waay to often. I know it's the holidays so it will take longer than usual. I will be patient.

It is the paint blend on the heel of the guitar. From the photo, it looks like no biggie.

Thanks RP. VJP5, Ray, Evan, mountainmaster for your enthusiasm! I was going to wait to delcare the news until after I decided if I was going to keep it, but I just had to share it with people who understand the excitement I'm feeling.

And now the end is near
And so I face the customs curtain My friends, I'll say it clear I'll state my case of which I'm certain I've lived a life that's full I've travelled each and every highway and more, much more than this I did it! X10 coming my way Guitars I've had a few But then again too few to mention I did what I had to do And saw it through without exemption I planned each metered course Each careful step along the by-way And more, much more than this I did it! X10 coming my way Yes, there were times I'm sure you knew When I asked for more than I knew But through it all when there was doubt I asked again and picked it out I faced it all And I stood tall I have an X10 coming my way I've loved, I've laughed, and cried I've had my fill, my share of musing And now, as my credit card subsides I find it all so amusing To think I ordered all that And may I say, not in a shy way "Oh no, oh no, not me I did it! X10 coming my way" For what is a musician, what has she got? If not an X10 then she has naught To play the things she truly feels And not a guitar with any heels The record shows I took the picks And played it my way Yes, an amber X10 is coming my way

Great musing, sometimes confusing, always amusing, X10 cruising. Thank you. |
