i see what you did there! i listened to the prelude and siciliana. they were very cool. the prelude is kind of mind blowing. i'll listen to the rest a bit later.

Thank you, I enjoyed it. Your playing is crisp and clean.
I liked the suite. The challenge in creating something new is that Bach already did Bach, van Gogh already did van Gogh and so on. As you are aware, most "serious" students of the arts, as part of their training, study the styles of the "greats" before us. (Obviously, you did as well.) The difficult part is not emulating them, but in doing something new. You've added some interesting harmonies to what would otherwise be a standard, solid Bach or de Visee type suite. It reminds me a little of Claude Bolling. The Sarabande, however, I felt offered something uniquely yours and new, as did the Gigue. Thanks for sharing it. |
