Default When Was My Yamaha LL-16-12 Built?

I have looked at the Yamaha dating sites and they are confusing to me.
As far as I can guess, it was made in 2014.
The SN is HKJ17*6**.
Can someone please verify if I have the correct year?
The guitar is an LL-16-12.

The current A.R.E. treated L-series was launched in 2014, so yours could be one of the last of the pre-A.R.E. models-assuming your dating info is accurate, and Yamaha's various systems are notoriously difficult to interpret.

Looking inside the guitar at the label it does have ARE in small letters.
It is on the right side of the label and not part of the model number.
So it most likely is from 2014, right?

This is a guitar that I just got.

It had very old strings on it and was quite dirty.
After an hour of cleaning and polishing it, I restrung it with a set of John Pearse 80/20 light strings.

WOW, this is a very nice guitar!
It has a sound that is very reminiscent of my L-20A, which I traded for it.
The top is extremely resonant and the bottom end is the fullest of any 12 string that I have ever owned.
I'm guessing this is due to the Rosewood back and sides and the A-R-E treatment.

Why did I wait so long to get this guitar?

March 17, 2014. I replaced the asterisks with ones. I used this wizard
https://www.guitardaterproject.org/Yamaha.aspx.

Thank you for the link.
It's nice to know when a guitar was made.

Oops, I missed bis82261's post on the date-code link but below I've written out the system for quick reference.

Your guitar: March 2014

Yamaha date-coding system:

First Letter H is for the century 2000

Second Letter is for the year:
K = 2014
L = 2015
M = 2016, etc

Third Letter is for the month:
H = January
I = February
J = March
K = April, etc
