Metronome Apps?
So I have come to realize that my time is pretty terrible and that I need to spend some time practicing with a Metronome. I know there are apps but thought I'd ask here what folks use. I'm probably overthinking this because I tend to do that with all things. Thanks!

Guitar Toolkit, an iPhone app, has a tuner and a metronome, and will also show chords.

YouTube has a whole lot of drumming backing tracks for guitar (along with various rhythm guitar backing tracks) which are more fun to play against than a metronome.
Just a thought. |

Android or iPhone?
For Android I like and use Metronome Beats Pro. There is a free version. |

Android here. I use "Drum Beats" if I want to play to a drumbeat, and "Metronome" when I just want clicks or beeps.
Which I choose depends on what I'm working on. When I'm just learning a song, I prefer a simple metronome. Playing with a metronome has helped me tremendously. My timing was god-awful before, and now it is only kind of bad. |

I really like GuitarTuna as a tuning app for my guitar. If you go to the tools bar on the app and hit tools, presto, a great metronome pops up. Added bonus to a great tuning app that I just recently found.

I know this is not what you are asking for, but thought I'd throw it out there anyways... I used to use different metronome apps and websites, but have come to realise I enjoy using a mechanical metronome so much more. I can't really explain why, I just do.
I guess it's just nice to not have to mess around with your phone or computer to use it. Right now I'm using a small Wittner Taktell Piccolino, which is very easy to use and works well for acoustic guitar. I have it placed on a table where I do most of my playing, so it's always ready to use. It can only do straight beats, but at some point I think I'm going to get a larger one with a bell that can be set to ring on different beats. Might be worth looking into. |
