You folks better quit e-mailing him so he can get back to Evan's project!

Yes Alistair seems the only one answering emails now.
We started a discussion on a custom neck but communication is slower and not as precise as it used to be with Sean, I can see alistair is struggling to do everything at the same time. But to be honest we were spoiled and it’s still perfectly fine, we just have to be a bit more patient

Jim;

Thank you. I don't know what it is that these folks don't understand regarding priorities. I'd probably have my X10-OSN, thin-bodied, nylon string Emerald by now if it wasn't for all the niggling interference. I may have to ask Alistair to stop taking email in order to take care of the important stuff, my stuff.

Thanks for the report. I'm very interested in a custom nylon. Too much bass can be a problem when trying to balance trebles, but it sounds like this guitar might be a great candidate for using lower tension basses and higher tension treble strings.

Man, am I jealous! I am really eager to check out Ireland, and a side-trip to Donegal would certainly be a highlight of my agenda. It would be sort of fun to bring my X7 home for a vist.

Emile;

I've been through 4 custom Emeralds and now working on the 5th. The first three were variations of acoustic nylon string instruments: X10-N, X20-OSN,
X10-OSN,. The 4th was an X7-OSN thin-bodied electric. Alistair is now working on thin-bodied X10-OSN. As you can tell, CF nylon string guitars are an interest of mine.

I would not be mining Emerald resources if I thought the gems were flawed. The balance between strings has been good, the various scales requested have intonated well, tonal qualities have been stellar, and the electronics have been excellent.

In short, for a custom nylon string CF guitar, I recommend you contact Emerald (after I get my 10-OSN electric).

Just to clarify. The bass I mentioned was more of a feature than a flaw.

I loved the X20 Nylon and almost convinced myself to buy it. Just much more bass than I expected and I needed to dial it back, at least compared to my normal approach. Actually quite balanced across all strings with the minor adjustment in attack.

Wow! Mr. K! Nice of you to volunteer, your name starts with a K and everything! I could hear you answering the phones, doing great visuals, chatting with all the pretty women, etc. Now's your chance to get the Emerald employee discount.
