After vowing we would never take a cruise, we did a Mediterranean cruise last year and were very surprised in a good way. It was a small ship of about 600 passengers. And no kids play areas. Great food and service was at five star hotels level. We will do it again next year.

Go Ask Alice?

River, I didn't take your post that way and after viewing the commercial, I found myself thinking, what we they thinking?

Yes, she can, but it goes against everything she stood for as queen of the counter-culture back in the day. Using it in the brothel scene in "The Handmaid's Tale" was a stroke of genius on the part of the producers and Grace: it was totally appropriate and fitted in with her well-publicised views on society. But an ad for a cruise line?

As for "she's not had a hit song in decades", as a member of probably the greatest psychedelic band of all time and a bona fide vocal legend, she doesn't have anything to prove artistically and as for financially, have you seen how much even a print of one of her paintings goes for?!!

I'm reminded of something we used to sing in the schoolyard around the time I was in fifth grade, based on a folk song originating in my great-grandparents' generation TMK:

"Joshua drank a bottle of Geritol, Geritol, Geritol..."

Can't discuss the final line here, but let's just say his walls would have been a very minor problem by comparison...
