Yeah, my inspirational book is "How to Keep your Digits - One Finger at a Time". That sharp chisel has found its way into my hand before, and it went amazingly deep. Thankfully my forefinger is still here.
Actually, I do listen to books while Steve is not in the shop (and to and from work). I've made it through about 25 this year so far. It makes work doubly enjoyable. Just can't listen while using heavy machinery - or so chapter 6 of the aforementioned book strongly recommends. |

Tom, at this rate, you're never going to have this guitar in your hands. It's time to let go my friend :P
Looking forward to getting a more holistic image of this build! I bet the elements tie in amazingly.

Second, I am glad you have all your appendages and that my guitar was not (at least thus far) the reason that gloves no longer would fit you quite right. And third, what books, perhaps Dr. Suess....I will not cut thee with a chisel, I will not cut thee with a thistle, for counting to ten without them all, would leave me at nine and that is not good at all..... OK that was one take and I am on vacation and may not be at 100%.... Last edited by TomB'sox; 07-08-2015 at 06:30 PM. |

Thanks Dave and Nemoman...I had not looked back for a while at the BRW pics, so seeing it again in these pics makes me appreciate it even more!!!
Plus, there are still more tricks up Kinnaird guitars sleeves for this build!!!! |

Beautiful BRW Tom! I can almost smell it!
And a huge congrats to Steve/Ryan on the successful bending operation. I can't imagine how fast your heart beats when you enter into that process.

Some neck work done yesterday by Steve:
Gluing carbon fiber bars next to truss rod: And ears glued onto the peghead to give it width and strength as the grain runs parallel to the length of the peghead: More to come, thanks!!! |

Confession
OK, OK, I know the rosette final picture was already posted, but this is the final final finished rosette picture. Steve had a great idea to add a little more bling which took what I thought was already really great and made it even really greater!!!! Notice the paua dots at the top 11 and 2 positions and one in each of the Koa diamonds. I can't believe how a little detail like that really finishes it off. Too me it adds symmetry to the eccentric rosette:

Kind thought bro, much appreciated, but a bit of hyperbole.
I'm more like the old blind hog that eventually finds an acorn, than anything else. Give credit to Tom and his wife unit. They sketched this design, and sent it along for approval. And by the way, you would not believe how all of this has morphed over time. I believe we started off with an Olson rosette/fretboard flourish. Now here we are, miles away! Steve |
