I went and ordered MFA66SHB, all solid-mahogany masterworks series folk for 579 euros. It has perfect specs and looks for my taste and it just fits on my budget. Too bad that I have to wait it for two months... such a long time! I hope it's a keeper and I can always return it if I don't like it.

At the risk of getting flamed, man, what is up with that pick guard. That's the ugliest pick guard I think I've ever seen on a guitar. I'd rather just do away with it altogether. http://alvarezguitars.com/guitars/

You ain't just whistling "Dixie"!
The guy I bought my MD70 from didn't put the gaurd on.
One of the nicest things he could have done!
I chose a nice tortoise shell one.
About the only thing I'd keep the Alvarez Pick guard for would be to get the proper radius on a new guard.
Cause it's uglier than the southbound end of a northbound mule.

I wish we had a simple "Like" button for posts here on the forum. I'd be "Liking" people's responses all over the place.

Default Yes to an Alvarez 6 string, NO to an Alvarez 12 string

Alvarez 6 string guitars play and sound great as good as guitars costing significantly more. Definitely recommend. Their 12 string Artist series guitars however are of horrible quality. Stay away. Stay far away. Very far away.

Appreciate your enthusiasm, but this thread is five years old.
