Balance this mystical Shakti stone on top of your head while you sing and play guitar and you will sound better... and it's good for improving your posture.
https://www.shakti-innovations.com/p.../shakti-stone/ Sometimes I think the only thing standing between me and those 12 mansions is the ability to discern the difference between what is morally right and what is wrong. PS. Just had another brainstorm... do you guys know about mu metal? Do you think there is a market for baseball caps lined with mu metal? (For what it's worth I find it blocks out the voices much more effectively as compared with aluminum foil.) |

I've often considered the fact that I'm far too empathetic to amass great wealth.

For what it's worth here are a couple of other favorite money quotes. Kinky Friedman–– "Money can buy you a fine dog but only love can maker her wag her tail." Bob Dylan–– "Money isn't important. No matter how many chairs you buy you only have one a**." Last edited by Al Acuff; 03-24-2023 at 01:49 PM. |

As some of you might be aware, Southern California has been experiencing much heavier rain and snow than our recent previous years.
As fate would have it, in regards to our discussion: My household humidity has undergone a 20% humidity change in just two days. California is just not a place where a lot of control of humidity is needed. Jean Larrivee, who’s factory is just 45 minutes from my house told me that one of the reasons he moved to Oxnard, California ,was for the nearly perfect year round humidity. I do have a humidifier which I turn on a various times of the year. However, I do not own a dehumidifier…as there are not too many days when the house hold humidity peaks over 55%. This year is one of those exceptions where I wished I owned a humidifier. House humidity rose a few weeks ago with the rain climbing into the mid 50’s%. While 42% is the proclaim target humidity, I have not noticed huged tonal changes even as high as 58%. Around five days ago, along with even more heavy rain, my house humidity rose to 61 & 62%. I started to notice a difference in sound, the bass especially became duller. Two days ago it peaked at 64%, and that is where I really noticed a difference…my guitar started to sound quite lifeless. Again, especially in the Bass strings. Yesterday with clear skies it dropped from 64% to 54%…and a great deal of vibrancy came back to the guitar. Today I woke up to another day of clearer skies, and also are using the house heater a bit more than usual and the humidity dropped 44%. And to my mind, the guitar sounds even clearer-defined now. No scientific testing done, no recordings made, only my personal observation. Which may or may not be correct. Some of you will say this is a wood moisture effect. And I am sure that there is some great truth to that. But I will say that I do have case humidity meters. While the meters read 54% inside the case(probably from yesterdays condition) ….With in a short period of time of taking the guitar out of the case..the guitar exhibited more definition of each note at the room humidity of 44%. This brings me back to my original inquiry. If you believe that sound panels effect your enivironment sound, then I say that either the density of the air, the moisture of the air, might have a small impact on the sound as well. Will it be significant to most? No, I doubt it. But if you are a believer that all of the little bits make up the whole, then it is another issue to contemplate. Obviously for those of you with well controlled environments, this is not an issue. |
