I bought this a few years ago when I didn’t own a guitar with a pick up, and didn’t have a guitar that I considered to be my gigging guitar. But all that changed shortly after I bought this Fishman, and it has never been used. Came across it as I was doing Spring cleaning, and feel ready to part with it.

No. I don't know when they added that (I am thinking it is a fairly recent addition, as some of the ones being sold as "new" on Reverb don't appear to have that switch: photos show the microphone coming off the back end of the pick up, like mine, whereas the ones with the low end switch have the mic coming off the side). I wasn’t even aware that there was a newer model that had a switch until you asked.
