Bought my wife a uke - but i need a basic fun uke book that she wont be bored with -dont care too much for the history of the instrument , she just wants some fun and easy stuff - that will keep her interest up !

Default Flea Market Music

I don't know what kind of music she likes, but whatever it is there'll be a songbook for it here.

I like these. I have a couple that I have bought the digital version (as I am in Germany)

They are nicely done and have online videos to accompany the songs.

It's not a song book per se but I found a lot of the stuff here to be very helpful for starting out

I participate on Ukulele Underground and it is a great forum as they make all feel welcome. Your wife should be able to learn a lot from the forum and have fun at the same time.

Something I really liked was learning 12 Street Rag. There's a lot on the internet if you look, particularly Marcy Marxer on the Kevin Enoch website and elsewhere. There's tab in some places as well. The reason it's so good is that it sounds a whole lot harder than it is. The first part just requires a single fret at the third fret of the first string (C). The whole piece is infectious. It set me off on a whole ragtime thing for my banjo ukulele although it sounds good on the regular one as well. If that stimulates her interest Fred Sokolow's book on ragtime ukulele is great, lots of recognizable Scott Joplin rags and others. Sokolow's other ukulele books are also great, and accessible.

Before the lockdown our senior citizens' center uke group used these - should keep you busy for a couple years at least :
