Ah, you DID do the heart of the Virgo cluster. NICE! NGC 4501 is particularly good.

How many hours?

...and which one has the best acoustic guitars?

Hey, c'mon. Gotta keep it real, right?

(Super cool pix, BTW!)

Thanks. It was 2 hours, but I want to do another 1.5 to 2 hours tonight as well. It's hard because there are no bright stars in the vicinity. I use bright stars to correct drift over time.

They call the Virgo Cluster "Heartbreak Hill" (with the nod to the Boston Marathon) because of that lack of bright stars. Trying to find your way in that maze of small fuzzies and positively identify (a requirement of the Messier Marathon) which small fuzzy is which - it is not easy. The biggest brightest are relatively easy but some are tricky.

That is a very nice shot for 2 hours. I hope you can go longer/deeper because there are very very few wide field shots of it. Bravo sir!

BTW, I quite like your orientation. Is that with a light pollution filter??

It's been cloudy, so no updates to the pic just yet. And, I get my shot tomorrow for the unmentionable "situation", for this forum, that's happening now. Friends have gotten flu like symptoms from it, so I'm hoping that doesn't happen, but if so, that will also delay the aquistion data.

This was without a filter, by the way.

Wow Wow Wow!!!!

That is fantastic! Is there any way I could get the full file? I would love to put that as my desktop.

WOW

ps. I got mine a couple of days ago. Sore arm, minor flu-like symptoms, nothing serious at all. I am glad to get it.

I can count 32 galaxies even in the image I can access. Wow. Nice.

Thanks... I'm fairly happy with that but going to add another couple hours tonight and see if it can get a little better. I'll send that one.

This is just about my final pic. I might edit it a bit more:

They only thing that slightly bothers me is the highlights are a tiny bit blown out.

Agreed. M88 seems a tiny bit better in the first image. A wee bit. You can see a little more detail in the spiral. Have you tried masking the galaxies a bit? I saw a YouTube vid of the process that seemed to help. Still...whatever; that image is awesome. I would really like the full file.

Yeah, I'm going to work it on a bit more in the next couple of days and see if I can get everything a bit better.
