Default G A S!!!

Out of control GAS. Actually somewhat planned gas. Ordered my custom Emerald X20 today with HyVibe pickup. So it’s a good day. Moving to all carbon fiber. Will be thinning out the acoustic wood and electric soon. Very soon.

Very cool. I'll be interested to hear your impressions of the Hyvibe on an X-20. The thought has crossed my mind...

I’m about 3 weeks into the wait for my third X20, and I’m trying hard not to think about it.

Some upcoming vacation time will take my mind off it for sure. Maybe

Mine should arrive when I have recovered enough from rotator cuff surgery to hold and play a guitar.

You will be playing an air guitar with fan frets before you realize what is happening. But you will be on vacation, so it is all good.

Sorry to hear about the rotator cuff surgery, but it sounds like you planned the timing. Congrats on the order on the X20 - I'll be interested to hear how you like the HyVibe. Since you already have an X7, you know what to expect with the X20.

Hope the surgery goes easy and your recovery is fast and full!

Emerald Virtuo can cover most acoustic and electric guitar sound. Will you consider that?

Did not consider the Virtuo. I wanted the “larger dreadnaught” acoustic sound. Added the HyVibe to see what it adds to the pleasure of playing without amping up.

Decisions decisions. I changed the pickup to a Ghost Piezo with K&K contact pickup. Decided I wanted to just “plug and play” verses dealing with all of the settings and options on a HyVibe.

Glad you caught it early in the process and you could change your mind!

Coming from an electric guitar background, I'm not opposed to using effects to achieve the music you want. I was an early adopter of the Tonewood Amp but moved it on because it was just too close to novelty.

I still love the concept of the TWA, especially that you can move it from guitar to guitar, but found it fiddly and decided that having hands free to play is more important to me, and resigned to the idea that an array of floor pedals makes more sense for my approach. But regarding innovation? Products like the Hyvibe and Tonewood Amp are very cool!

They are. It'll be interesting to see, in a week or so now, if HyVibe's new product will move it beyond the novelty stage.

Pictures look like it is smaller and lighter than the Tonewood Amp. I think it is cool that it can be manipulated from a phone too. I would be willing to try it.
