For the video makers... Getting free use video clips?

I wrote a song in memory of Gordon Lightfoot. I would love to include some concert footage or some pictures, but I am unsure of how to find anything that isn't copyrighted? Any one have any ideas of how to get access (free or cheap) of such a thing?

What I have done is just google the terms "Free" photos or "Free" video footage of (*****)

Now be aware you will get a number of photos especially , that are watermarked (bait) to get you purchase . But you may find some usable stuff also good luck

Thanks Kevin! Yeah, that's what I usually do as well, but fir some reason I'm not finding much in terms of videos.

If you find something on YouTube that you like, you can always contact the creator and ask permission.

Humm yes I would suspect that trying to find royalty free video content of a specific stars concert performances would be particularly difficult

The only free video content I have found and used is generic background video stuff nothing like concert footage

And the issue (not that it could not be done) with video footage of a concert or performance ,, "Could be" having to and trying to, get permission from both the copyright holder for the song material itself and the copyright holder for the video footage which "can be" two different entities ..

Yeah, I honestly think it's going to be well beyond the effort I would want to put into it. I think I'll just go another route instead.

You may be able to find enough royalty free photos of him to do a decent slide show type video.
