When I Paint My Masterpiece - Bob Dylan version
Can you recommend any good tutorials or cover videos of this song? I have found a few... looking for others I may have missed.
This one is a simple arrangement, but I love the guy's voice! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSw4M-ltERU |

It's just about the most simple song out there...
This one done live by the Band is in A but easy to transpose. They did it in B flat on their album. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yq7QVXwfLsY Here is also a great cover. They also play in the same position but capo'd. You can see the chords she is playing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfCAXV2QbGE Here are the basic chords from the net so take them with a grain of salt. Also you have to hear the changes.... [Intro] D A D A E [Verse 1] D A D A Oh, the streets of Rome are filled with rubble, E A Ancient foot prints are everywhere. D A D A You could almost think that your seein' double, E A On the cold, dark night on the Spanish Stairs. E E7 A Gotta hurry on back to my hotel room, E A D Where I got me a date with a pretty little girl from Greece. A D A She promised she'd be there with me, E A When I paint my masterpiece. [Interlude] D A D A E [Verse 2] D A D A Oh, the hours we spent, inside the Coliseum. E A D Dodging lions, and a-wasting time, A D A Oh those mighty kings of the jungle, I could hardly stand to see'em E E7 A Yes it sure has been a long, hard climb. E A Train wheels a running through the back of my memory, E A D When I ran on a hilltop followin' a pack of wild geese, A D A Someday everything is gonna sound like a rhapsody E A When I paint my masterpiece. [Bridge] E A Sailing round the world in a dirty gondola, C#m D E D A/C# Cdim7 E Oh to be back in the land of, Coca cola. [Verse 3] D A D A Well I left Rome, and landed in Brussels, E E7 A On a plane ride so bumpy that I almost cried, D A D A Clergy men in uniform, and young girls pulling muscles, E E7 A Everyone was there to greet me when I stepped inside, E A Newspaper men eatin' candy, E A D Had to be held down by big police. A D A Someday, everything is gonna be different, E A When I paint my masterpiece. D A D A [fade] X

I’ve messed with this song recently. Love it. But I’ve heard a version where that last verse modulates up a step. I’ve not done that but might try it one day…
