NGD: PRS McCarty 594 doublecut

I apologize for the not great picture. I traded for this yesterday and so far I'm loving the neck and tone! I'll provide a better review later, but it's a fun guitar! Workmanship and setup are perfect.

Congrats on the new guitar! Besides looking beautiful, the 594 is simply a great guitar that is very highly regarded among PRS players. That one should be a keeper.

That’s really beautiful! Congratulations. I think the 594 is called that because of the scale length. Correct? Do you know why PRS is using a two piece tailpiece on the newer McCarty’s? My older 2003 model has a single tailpiece.

I have an S2 Mira that I bought used and really like.
It’s low end Maryland made, but I love the neck and simplicity.

I'm not exactly sure, but it could make it easier to add a Bigsby later. I'm not sure if the two piece offers any real sonic differences from the one piece? I do know that the SE hollow body still uses the one piece bridge/tailpiece.

I think PRS, with the 594, are catering to people who like the Les Paul feel. Both my Custom 22, and my SC245 had the single wraparound tailpiece bridge, and I've compared them both to the 594s with two piece bridge setup. I think there is both a sonic and feel difference. Nothing huge, but I can hear it and feel it, and it feels more like a traditional Les Paul, other than the frets and heel of the PRS necks. I've never liked the PRS bigger frets and the way they are crowned on my Custom 22, but I've got it sounding great, so I may work on those frets to get them where I like them.

Rockabilly, that Bigsby one is crazy! I think I would like to play one that is all mahogany done up with the bigs. Kind of an SG vibe.

My SE 245 had the single wraparound tailpiece/bridge also. I liked it quite a bit. One of my sons now has that one.
