I would love to know more about the no name pawn shop find. It could be a well made and vintage guitar that is not identifiable. Then the comparison would be pointless.

It really is a cheap guitar with a bad paint job and dings all over. The sound is nothing special but the bass and projection are better than my guitar.
The frets on my Tak are all flat and very low. I thought fret wear looked like depressions where the strings dig in. This looks intentional. As such there is little fret left for crowning. Still I'll take it to a luthier. |
