What's the "pecking" order of your guitars?

Don't have a "pecking" order.

I have a 'heard', not a 'hen party'.

Edit ==> Upon consideration, I tend to play the four guitars that are spruce over rosewood the most. The two laminates ('lam' in signature), especially the EJ-200, are my go-to guitars in times of wicked high humidity. My larger solid wood guitars can sound kind of 'off' or 'wonky', where the laminates tend to have their normal sound.

Whatever is closest at hand.

Okay, seriously? When I play an acoustic, I play my 25 year old laminate guitar (solid top) far more than I play my Taylor.

Because I want to be considerate to my wife, I tend to play my Sheraton II more than I play my acoustics (combined) I just pick up the Sheraton and play it unplugged. As a semi-hollow, it is loud enough acoustically to for me to practice, noddle, and play, while still keeping it down enough that my wife doesn't keep wincing when I accidentally drag my fingers on the string when moving up/down the fretboard, or when I hit a (not so) occasional sour note.

I am in the process of acquiring a 12 string, so I anticipate my acoustic playing will go up at least short term once that happens.

I’m playing my Larrivee 00-40 a lot because I’m trying to work on fingerpicking. My Gibson J50 has a very different sound, so it’s not lower in the hierarchy, just different.

As far as electrics, I’m playing a Gretsch Anniversary a lot because that’s what I’m playing in a band. Otherwise it’s a tossup between a partscaster telecaster and a Reverend Double Agent. Different moods. Those last two.

Out of about twenty, I can think of five acoustics and four electrics that don't have a pecking order because they're too different. Some I play more often, but it's like choosing a hammer or a saw. They each do a job the others won't do.

My J-50 is tuned to standard E, my 00-16DB is tuned a semitone down (Eb) and my GS8 is tuned a whole tone down (D). (I have lost some high end in my vocals over the years and there's quite a few songs I like playing with the guitars tuned to D.)

So there's no pecking order, I just pick the one that suits the song I want to play.

I have three 12 string guitars, one's forever, and two could be sold. I have a 2012 Taylor 12 string cedar top jumbo in excellent condition, a 2006 Breedlove made by him before he went back to Taylor that's a 12 string jumbo in mint condition, and a 2005 Takamine EG523SC maple 12 string jumbo. Nothing beats the sustain and richness of the Taylor. Thought about buying a Furch cedar top 6 string to play, but can't decide. Breedlove was an investment at a great price (per the production manager at the plant). The Taylor is a keeper forever, but the Breedlove and Takamine could be sold for rich 12 string with a smooth action in a hardwood. All cases original. FYI, I use the new D'Addario XS light gauge strings in the white packaging on all of them. All are kept in cases with multiple humidifiers and maintained at about 45% humidity.

1. 14 fret 25.4 scale on 000-12fret body; Brw, one off, my personal grail
1. 12 fret 25.4 scale on SJ deep body; Brw, one off, for something different
1. Maple J, 25.4 scale, one off (my first build)
1. Guild F-312 1965; the 12 string
1. Harmony H-165, altered (always within reach at home).
1. D-18 (old, but not ancient), for jams.
