Well that's just beautiful!

All the best with it, and Happy New Year!

That's really gorgeous - I love the way the grain of the wood "hangs" down from the end of the neck and gives it a sort of sinister looking little mustache. I like the slotted headstock too, although I hate to think of what that cost you. In any case, given the poor experience another member had with a recent X20 with a similar veneer, I'm glad your's worked out well and hope his is quickly taken care of. I have an X20 too, and really like it, although I've fallen in love with a new woody X7 on a whole other level. Many flavors to choose from!

Thank you, everyone!
Mark L - I like the tone
Methos - thanks! This is actually not my first Emerald. My first is an older model X5 that I've traveled with many times. It's as light as a tennis racquet and in the gig bag on your back, you'll forget it's there.

Congrats J.R.! That’s a beaut! Enjoy. As we Emerald owners know, Alistair & Co. are second to none, wood or CF, from so many perspectives. Love my X20, and had a lot of fun with previous Chimaera doublenecks.

Boy that’s pretty! Someday I have to get my hands on an X-20, I want to compare it to my Shorty.

Thank you! Check out these videos which show the variety of guitars that they ship. Custom options that I didn't even know existed. They will even cut the depth of the guitar down if you want something thinner.

Yeah, unlike all the other composite builders, Emerald seems unique in their ability to adapt processes to offer customization options to satisfy client imaginations. Of course, it comes at a cost, but still reasonable in the scheme of things, but again, their competition offers no such flexibility at any cost.

WOW!! JR, your guitar looks So amazing I am speechless. STUNNING! Truly a Masterpiece. I LOVE the Ebony streaking and the shade. The Slotted headstock looks equally impressive. You must be over the moon. I am so happy for you!

I would love to try one of these sometime. I would want it to have a preamp for amplified use and perhaps a non slotted headstock for ease of string changes. (for me)

Thank you for my First 2019 GAS. Are you happy now? LOL

Default NGD - Emerald X20 Custom Royal Ebony

Congrats JR! I’ve visited Emerald’s website more than any other CF maker lately....but hear my wife’s voice asking, “what do you need another guitar for? That’s a very cool guitar.

Congrats JR!! As others have said, the veneer and slotted headstock makes for one stunning looking guitar!!!

I have had my X20 "woody"with quilted maple and custom blue/green burst finish for a little over a year now. It continues to amaze me every time I pick it up. Alistair and the lads at Emerald do great work, and the fact that these are all carbon fiber, yet sound so rich and full, is a testament to what they are doing crafting these beautiful guitars.

Again, good for you on your new found love........ :-)
