Serial #13443017. Build completion date: 12/13.
SJ-200 Series body type with 1941 J-100 style. 16 7/8” wide. 4 7/8” deep. Solid Sitka Spruce top with multi-ply single ring rosette, bound sound hole, multi-ply top binding, Vintage Sunburst finish, and scalloped bracing. Solid Mahogany sides and two-piece back with multi-ply binding. Nitrocellulose gloss finish. Mahogany one-piece neck with compound dovetail joint (using hide glue), a Traditional J-200 headstock, and a mother-of-pearl Gibson script logo. Rosewood fingerboard with ¼” mother of pearl dot inlays (1.725” at nut, 25½” scale length, and 2 3/16" string spacing at saddle). 1940s style SJ-100 rosewood bridge. Tusq nut and saddle. AJ style Firestripe pickguard. Nickel white button vintage tuners with 15:1 ratio. L.R. Baggs 9V Element pickup with volume control in sound hole. Gibson standard hardshell case with black Tolex exterior and blue interior. I'm continuing to downsize my collection before a retirement move South to a smaller home. This is a one-owner SJ-100 in excellent condition - - no fret wear, dings, or scratches through the finish, just light evidence in the darker areas of the body that the guitar has been handled. The guitar has a comfortable low/medium action of 5/64” and 4/64” at the low E and high E stings, respectively, at the 12th fret. The tone is warm and resonant, with lots of bass presence, and the standard L.R. Baggs 9V Element pickup sounds clear and is unobtrusive. Here is a link to additional information from the Gibson website for this model: http://www.gibson.com/Products/Acous...100/Specs.aspx Price lowered to $1795 shipped in the continental USA if paid by check. Please contact Martz911@optonline.net with questions or to request sound clips via email attachment. No trade offers please. Please note that the white marks in the pictures of the guitar's body are just grass blade reflections in the dark gloss surface. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Martz911; 02-04-2019 at 10:37 PM. |

Another beauty from the house of Martz! These J-100s are great guitars and hidden gems in the lineup.
Looks like a 2013 based on the serial #... build started on the 344th day of 2013, and was the 17th guitar on the line ![]() GLWS

Folks, I don't know the seller or have I played this guitar. But if I were to spend money on a guitar listed on this forum, for $1995 (shipped!) this would be it.
GLWTS, and have a great weekend! |

Since this is an SJ-100, I don't get why folks commonly refer to these as a J-100. The same is true for a CJ-165, for example. It's typically referred to as a J-165. I don't get it! ![]()

No affiliation with Martz, but I just compared his price to the ones on Reverb.
Would that I could! Great deal.
