Rev, I appreciate the fact that you can own and enjoy both Martin and Taylor products. For some reason, many forum posters are incapable of doing so. I own an HD28V custom in Guat and a K24ce-V Class. In isolation, they both sound wonderful. But as you have pointed out, vastly different. I like the fact that the Taylor is smaller (great couch guitar), a gloriously different wood, and has a pickup which I’m just learning to explore. BTW, once you plug that bad boy in, the ES2 will allow you to make it sound however you want so the acoustic only comparo shorts the Taylor’s capabilities significantly. And as you know, a Martin 40 Series is hands down one of the best guitars in the world.

So you’ve got two great guitars and I’m happy for you that you can enjoy the differences. I liken it to eating fine foods. I enjoy both steak and lobster. I don’t argue over which one is best then insist on only experiencing one of them.

Vive la difference!
