This is flipping brilliant. I played Doors covers in high school and college, and their influence has never left me. Your cover shows what is possible. Just excellent.

Yes a brilliant arrangement. Keeping the bass going is the trick. I agree with the others about doing a studio recording. I'd like to hear the results.
Minor detail comment: The ascending notes that occur at 1:13-1:15 have two different voices. That is, at 1:13 the melody line and harmony are played on strings 2 and 3 (if memory servers me) but the next two positions have the melody line on the top string. I think the the voicing could be improved if the melody stayed on the second string. In your arrangement, the mellower first triad is followed by brighter chord, but I think that the whole phrase would be more compelling if the melody were carried only on the second string. Don't know if this is possible and still keep the bass line going. My classical guitar teacher was quite the stickler on these types of tonal shifts and extensively rearranged pieces to avoid it, so I got sensitized. If it is possible to arrange the line this way, I think the phrase would be stronger, and allow you so crescendo a bit as the phrase as the notes ascend. Great work. Thanks. |

I absolutely agree with you! I should have done it the way you suggest! You are absolutely right...and I think it would'nt be big problem to maintain the bassline ,cause in that particular point the bassline is a lot simplyer than the main part of the song and less stretchy, ..so yes I totally agree..! The only thing now is that I got used to it so much , and maybe will be a little bit hard to change it..but I surely can try! Thank you very much for this useful comment, and I'm very glad you liked it overall! All the best! Last edited by PanosK; 11-09-2015 at 02:16 PM. |

I really appreciate that! The effect you hear is soundsample of rain&lightning similar to the original ,that I put over the recording ,as a reference to the atmosphere of the original.... To tell you the truth ,I came up with this idea because of the need to cover some noises my baby boy was doing at about 0:57 of the recording But after that ,I kind of like the idea ,and put it a couple of times more, in some other parts too.. |
