Default Anyone Notice All The Buzz Aound CF Guitars?

This is exciting! And great to see discussion around all of the companies. Based on the advances with carbon fiber, I think we will see these guitars become a lot more mainstream in the next couple of years.

Yes, and I've also noticed that more wood guys seem to be venturing into these parts.

Think it has to do with their current voicings. I think both Emerald and Rainsong have strategically moved their voicings closer to wood and it is not as much of a leap to make. It could be that we the consumer are telling them what we want through dealers like Ted? MacNickol? More Unidirectional tops, hybrids? The Parlor sounds different than my JM1000. I have gown to love that pure carbon clarity, but new woodies probably start with a warm sound that freaks them out cause its wood, till they look down. That's how I got my first CA.

I'd love to get my hands on one, to at least try, but I've yet to see one appear in Western PA.

They are like UFOs...only a handful of people have actually seen them and everybody else must be content with believing they exist!

Go over to the MacNichol forums and wait for the next "road trip". These events are to get these guitars into people's hands to try. Basically, you sign up and then MacNichol sends the road trip instrument to one person who keeps it a week or so and sends it on to the next person. I think you pay shipping once.

Acoustic Music works in Pittsburgh use to carry a bunch of the CA line before the Peavey buyout. I bought one of my CA's there and at that time (about 4 years ago) he had about 6 in stock. Here is a link to the store (Really nice store at that)

http://www.acousticmusicworks.com/

It looks like he might have a cargo or 2 in stock. Not sure how much he updates his web site?

Might be worth the visit to see what he has or might have coming in. Always fun to visit a great guitar shop even if you don't buy anything!

Good Luck.

Yeah, those boys at AMW ruint me a while back... I never knew how nice, and expensive, acoustic guitars could be before I poked my head in there a while back. I'll have to look around next time I'm in and see if they have any around.
